Dusk Till Dawn

November 2006

In Dusk Till Dawn, the artists David Pledger and Callum Morton took the large-scale, interactive installation that was Walk-In Drive-In and shrank it. The gigantic proportions of that work are traded for a diminutive, ambient rendition of the themes of nostalgia, arousal and suburban dystopia. Using a single light, haze, the model of the projection booth, two screens, their respective films and an amplified tonal soundscape, Dusk Till Dawn drew the viewer into a world in which time and space became abstract and a sense of place contestable. As such the environment created a dreamscape in which past and present collided and the future remained tantalisingly beyond image and sound.
